Who we are
Pineapple Watersports (pineapplewatersports.com) is a small independent site run from British Columbia, Canada. Questions about your information go to alex@pineapplewatersports.com.
What we collect
- Visits to pages: the page address, the page you came from, your browser and device type, screen size, operating system, and your rough city and country. The city and country come from a lookup service (ipapi.co) that sees your IP address. We don't store your IP address with your visit.
- Votes and reactions: a scrambled version of your IP address, which video you voted for or reacted to, and when. This is how we limit the number of votes per person. We store the scrambled version, not your actual IP address. We also keep a random ID your browser makes for this site (scrambled too), so switching connections doesn't give extra votes, and we note what kind of connection each vote came from (ordinary, VPN, proxy, Tor or data centre) and its country, so we can spot and remove fake votes.
- Comments: the name you type (optional, shown publicly with your comment), your comment (public), your email if you give one, and a scrambled version of your IP address so we can stop spam (too many comments from one person). Your email and the scrambled IP are never shown on the site.
- Email list: if you give your email with a comment, we send you one email asking you to confirm. You're only added to our list if you click the link in it. If you sign up on the homepage, we keep your email and your rough city and country, and we get a notice that you signed up.
- Suggest an Artist form: what you fill in, including your email. We send you one email to check the address is real.
- Christmas draw: your email, whether you ticked the box to also join our mailing list, and a scrambled version of your IP address so one person can't send in lots of entries. We send you one email to confirm your entry. We use it only to run the draw and contact the winner (plus the mailing list, if you ticked the box), and we delete draw entries once the prize is paid. - Chat on the homepage: the name you type (optional), your message (both public), and a scrambled version of your IP address so we can stop spam. The scrambled IP is never shown.
Tips
Tips go straight from your wallet to the artist's wallet. We never see, hold or handle the money. Bitcoin Cash and Solana (USDC/USDT) payments are recorded on public blockchains that anyone can look up; that's how those networks work, not something we control. Monero payments are private by design.
Cookies and your browser
We use Google Analytics on every page to count visits and see which pages people use. Google sets its own cookies for this and its privacy policy applies to what it collects.
We also save a few small settings in your own browser: that you passed the 18+ check, whether you've already given us your email (so we don't ask again), a random number used to shuffle videos, and the days you voted and which clips you voted for (for your voting streak and to tell you if you backed a Clip of the Week). These stay in your browser and aren't sent to us.
Other services we use
- Supabase: stores our database (votes, comments, email list, artists).
- Hostinger: hosts the website files.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Google Analytics: visit statistics.
- ipapi.co: rough location (city and country) for page visits and signups, and to check whether you're in the United Kingdom, where the site isn't available for now.
- proxycheck.io: when you vote, we send it your IP address to find out whether the connection is a VPN, proxy, Tor or data centre, and which country it's in. We keep only the answer, not your IP address.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: when you vote, an automatic check that the vote comes from a person, not a program. Cloudflare looks at your browser and connection for that check, under its own privacy policy. Most people never see it.
- Pornhub, RedGifs and other video sites: videos play in their own players, loaded from their sites. They may set their own cookies and collect information under their own privacy policies.
- Fonts and page code also load from Google Fonts, jsDelivr, cdnjs and Tailwind.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't give it to anyone except the services listed above, which need it to run the site. We don't show ads.
Your choices
Email alex@pineapplewatersports.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, fix it, delete it, or come off the email list. We'll do it and tell you when it's done.
18+ only
This site is only for adults. If we find out someone under 18 gave us their information, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date below.
