What changed on October 17, 2026

New: Vote tips for artists (section 5). From Sunday, November 1 at 8 PM Pacific, every vote on an artist's clip adds 5¢ in Bitcoin Cash to that artist's tips, up to $50 a week.

New: Your first $1 in Bitcoin Cash (section 6). The first 50 people who set up their first Bitcoin Cash wallet get $1 in BCH from us, from Sunday, November 1 at 12:01 AM Pacific.

Both are experiments. We may change them or stop them at any time, and we'll say so on this page. Tips already earned and claims we've already accepted will still be paid.

What changed on October 16, 2026

New: Clip of the Year 2026 (section 3), $100 in Bitcoin Cash to the artist in the Best Amateurs clip of 1 minute or less with the most votes from Sunday, October 18 at 8 PM to December 31.

Clip of the Week: from the week starting Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 8 PM Pacific time, only clips 1 minute long or less can win. The week ending October 18 is unchanged.

Artist of the Year needs at least 3 artists in the race when sign-ups close on November 30. With fewer, there's no Artist of the Year 2026 (section 1).

What changed on October 15, 2026

We found a bug that made some votes fail without saying so. Voting was halted while we fixed it, and it came back on October 16, 2026.

Clip of the Week carries on as before, including the week ending Sunday, October 18. Votes already cast still count.

The old grand prize ($1000 to the top Best Amateurs clip) is replaced by Artist of the Year 2026 (section 1): a prize for the artist, not one clip, between the artists who sign up, all starting from zero on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 12:01 AM Pacific time. Prizes already won stand: AlleyBite's Clip of the Week (week ending October 11) was paid on October 12, 2026.

1. Artist of the Year 2026: 1st, 2nd and 3rd

2. Clip of the Week

3. Clip of the Year 2026

4. The $100 Christmas draw for voters

5. Vote tips for artists (experimental)

6. Your first $1 in Bitcoin Cash (experimental)

Why Bitcoin Cash?

We pay every prize in Bitcoin Cash because it goes straight from our wallet to the artist's wallet, with no bank, card company or payment processor in the middle. Nobody can block it, freeze it or take a cut, and adult artists are usually the first ones banks and card companies cut off.

The network fee is usually a fraction of a cent, so the artist gets the whole prize. And every payment is recorded on the public blockchain, so anyone can check that we paid, and when.

And because we believe Bitcoin Cash isn't only the best Bitcoin, it's the true embodiment of Satoshi Nakamoto's vision: peer-to-peer electronic cash, money anyone can send to anyone, cheaply, with nobody in the middle.
